About Vote United

We’re a group of everyday citizens that believe participation is the antidote to toxic partisan gridlock and voter apathy.

Our mission is to close the gap between government and voters with an informed public that feels empowered to participate, representatives who are accountable to the people they serve, and a system that's open to anyone willing to step up and lead.

Building a path to a better future

Vote United focuses on three areas to make democracy more representative of the people it's meant to serve.

Education

An informed citizen is the foundation of a functioning democracy. Vote United is creating civic education resources for adults and K-12 students, and practical guidance for anyone considering a run for office: whether that means navigating a nonpartisan local race, a party primary, an independent petition drive, or third-party ballot access requirements that vary by state.

Transparency & Accountability

Citizens can't hold their representatives accountable if they can't see what they're doing. We advocate for clearer communication from elected officials, push for practices that keep representatives connected to their constituents, and research electoral and governmental reforms that could make representation more accurate and participation more meaningful.

Engagement

Civic participation shouldn’t be limited to election cycles. We’re exploring technology solutions to remove obstacles between American voters and their elected officials. Improving communication will reduce political apathy, increase voter turnout, and aid decision-making for both constituents and their representatives for a better democracy in the digital age.

Wondering if your vote really matters? We answer that, and a lot more.
